Philippine Arbor Day is held every 25th day of the month of June by virtue of Proclamation No. 6343 signed in 2004.

This is to observe and promote healthier ecosystems for the people through rehabilitation and regreening of the environment.

For this year 2021 amidst the pandemic, with the theme “Sama-samang Pagkios, Sama-samang Paghilum, Ikaw, Ako, Tayo ang Kalikasan”, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau – 7 staff joined the nationwide tree planting activity with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Central Visayas, and other national government agencies in celebration of Arbor Day.

Over hundreds of seedlings were planted on designated areas at Barangay Sunog, Balamban, Cebu on June 25. During the said activity, physical distancing was observed. (IO)
