National Disaster Resilience Month
In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month this July, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) calls on all stakeholders to support government programs geared towards attaining disaster resilience.
Executive Order Number 29 signed on June 28, 2017, mandates the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) “throughout the country through the conduct of activities relative to building of disaster resilience covering the four thematic areas: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation and recovery.”
The NDRM observance reiterates the importance of understanding disaster risks, strengthening disaster risk governance, investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, enhancing preparedness for effective response, and implementing “Build Back Better” in rehabilitation and recovery.
This year’s theme is “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan”.
