MGB 7 RENEWS INDUSTRIAL SAND AND GRAVEL PERMIT TO MR. GILMAR A. BESAÑES

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) 7 has approved the renewal of the Industrial Sand and Gravel (ISAG) Permit denominated as IP-000023-VII to MR. GILMAR A. BESAÑES on June 14, 2022, in Mandaue City.


The permit on its second renewal covers the extraction site with an area of 5.1931 hectares located within a segment of Ilag River, Barangay Media Once, Toledo City, Cebu and its processing plant covering an area of 1.5613 hectares located in Barangay Magdugo, Toledo City.  The permit will expire after five (5) years from the date of its issuance.


Standing in the presence of Regional Director Armando L. Malicse and Mr. Gilmar A. Besañes, were Division Chiefs – Engr. Edgardo C. Loquellano (Mine Management Division), Engr. Edgar C. Lagarnia (Mine Safety Environment and Social Development Division), and Atty. Cid Jerome O. Navarez (Legal Officer) together with selected personnel as witnesses for the said occasion. Briefing on the terms and conditions of the said permit took place thereafter.


As stated on the contract, the permit holder should strictly adhere to the provisions of RA 7942 or the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and its Implementing Revised Rules and Regulations and the terms and conditions of the permit.


It is expected that the permit holder should comply with his obligations under the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (EPEP) and Annual EPEP including the allocation of prescribed annual environmental expense pursuant to Section 171 of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations.


Moreover, Mr. Besañes should maintain a Monitoring Trust Fund of not less than P150,000.00 and a Rehabilitation Cash Fund of at least 10% of the approved EPEP including the required EPEP, AEPEP, Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) and Annual SDMP within the duration of the permit.
