Sixteen employees of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) – 7 now enjoy the security of having a permanent job after they have been promoted to a regular position this year.

Of this, nine recently promoted employees hold the positions of Chief Administrative Officer, Administrative Officer V, Senior Geologist, Chemist IV, Mining Claims Examiner II, Senior Science Research Specialist, Engineer III, and Engineer IV.

The remaining seven are individuals previously hired under Contract of Service (COS) who now receive the benefits of a permanent employee.

“These COS employees have rendered more than three years of service to the agency. They are all well-deserving and competent personnel who have been helping us in implementing the plans and programs in continuing MGB’s mandate,” MGB 7 Regional Director Armando Malicse said.

RD Malicse regularized MGB employees in 10 months since he became the OIC-Regional Director.

He believes that office performance depends highly on its personnel and that efficient and effective employees must receive the career growth they deserve.

“We greatly appreciate RD Malicse’s efforts to push for the filling out of vacant positions. I want to thank as well the efforts of our team from the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD) for the efficient handling of documents and requirements that expedited the process,” FAD Chief Aira Torregosa expressed.

Currently, MGB 7 has a total of 49 permanent employees and 26 COS employees. (IO/MGB7)
