Geohazard Advisory for Inclement Weather for CV Local Government Units

Regional Director Armando L. Malicse of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region 7, has issued a notice concerning a Low-Pressure Area (LPA). As of 3:00 AM on January 13, 2023, the LPA was detected 140 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The Northeast Monsoon continues to impact Northern and Central Luzon.

Residents are urged to prepare for potential landslides and flooding in moderate to very high susceptibility areas. The MGB will provide local government units and relevant offices with a list of barangays likely to be affected. Communities, especially those near steep slopes, rivers, or coastal areas, should take precautionary measures. Maintaining regular communication with Barangay Officials and monitoring PAGASA’s Weather Bulletins are strongly recommended to stay updated on the situation. (IO)
