President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the environmental stewardship and contributions of the private sector in the mining industry during the 2023 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award (PMIEA) ceremony at Malacaรฑan Palace today.
Established in 1997, the PMIEA awards companies that excel in safety, health, environmental management, and social development. This year, 13 mining firms were honored, including seven surface miners, four quarry operators, and two mineral processors. The winners were selected based on their performance from July 2022 to June 2023. (IO/MGB7)
