To come up with effective policy reforms in the mining industry, a series of consultation meetings with mining stakeholders were conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).

Cebu became the fourth-leg venue in the series through a joint consultative meeting to discuss the mining concerns of Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) holders in Central and Eastern Visayas facilitated by MGB 7 & 8.

The meeting was attended by DENR Acting Secretary Jim O. Sampulna, DENR Finance, Information System and Mining Concerns Ms. Nonita S. Caguioa, MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, EMB Director William P. Cuñado and other DENR and MGB regional officials, division chiefs and staff.

The event was held on March 30 at the Waterfront Hotel Lahug, Cebu City. (MGB7/IO)
