Central Visayas have experienced occasional heavy to moderate rains in the past weeks that loosened the soil, caused landslide and flooding in some areas in the region.

In Bohol, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Office has reported two landslide incidents in Balilihan and Sevilla towns. A portion of the barangay road in Buyog Norte, Balilihan was immediately cleared and was passable after a few hours. One classroom of Sevilla National High School was damaged by the landslide.

A 13-year old child was reported missing in flood water in Sto. Tomas, Trinidad town as of January 18, 2017.

In Siquijor, only a minor was noted by their PDRRMO. Debris on the road in Basak, Larena was immediately cleared.

No major incidents were reported by PDRRMO-Negros.

In Cebu, several landslide incidents were reported. Most of these have been earlier identified as vulnerable to landslides. These include areas in barangays Sirao and Busay in Cebu City, and barangays Uling and Lanas in Naga City. In Alcantara town, a sinkhole was found by residents in barangay Lawaan.
