Running with Purpose: MGB 7 Joins PCAPI7s Paw-some Eco-Run
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, employees from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 7 (MGB 7) joined fellow running enthusiasts at “Run FUR the Environment”, a paw-some eco-run initiated by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. Region 7 (PCAPI 7) in partnership with DENR 7 and its attached bureaus. The event was held at Robinsons Galleria, Cebu City.
The eco-run featured 3K, 6K, and 12K categories, along with a special 1K run with dogs, uniting fitness enthusiasts, dog lovers, and eco-warriors in a meaningful cause for the planet.
MGB 7 employees proudly joined the 3K, 6K, and 12K runs, showing their commitment to health, camaraderie, and environmental advocacy. MGB 7 OIC, Regional Director Al Emil G. Berador expressed pride in the participation of MGB 7 employees and extended his appreciation to PCAPI 7 for spearheading such a worthwhile initiative that champions both health and the environment.
A big thanks also goes to the MGBEA Region 7 Chapter for sponsoring the food for the participants. The MGBEA continues to support health and wellness programs that promote the well-being of its employees.
Congratulations as well to the raffle prize winners from MGB 7: Marieta B. Alicaba (a sack of rice), Reina Frances D. Requiron (Gift Certificate), and John Lupe B. Estonilo (Timex Smart Watch).
Proceeds from the event will fund rainwater harvesting systems for schools, tree and mangrove planting, and river and coastal cleanups—sustainable initiatives that strengthen environmental protection in Cebu and beyond. (MGB7/IO)
