MGB 7 Mining Engineers Participate in 2025 ADR Roadshow in Cebu

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 7 (MGB 7) attended the 2025 Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Roadshow on August 12, 2025, at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. The event, organized by the Department of Justice’s Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR), aimed to promote efficient conflict resolution nationwide.

Participation in ADR is essential for the MGB, as it offers a more effective and less adversarial approach to resolving mining-related disputes. This helps preserve relationships with stakeholders and enhances public trust.

The day included welcome remarks from OADR Deputy Executive Director Kristin Gem M. Santos and sessions covering the significance of ADR. A key highlight was a presentation by Dean Rodel A. Taton on establishing ADR programs, which shared insights into resource needs and best practices.

The afternoon featured additional discussions led by Deputy Executive Director Santos and Supervising Administrative Officer Laurence M. Garcia, focusing on OADR’s programs and activities to strengthen ADR within government agencies. The event concluded with certificate awards and networking opportunities.
