MGB 7 Fully Compliant with Mining Engineering Standards

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office VII is proud to announce that it has been found fully compliant with the rules and regulations of RA 4274, also known as the Mining Engineering Law of the Philippines.

This milestone follows an official inspection and monitoring visit conducted on February 10, 2026, at our office in Banilad, Mandaue City. The assessment was carried out by a distinguished team from the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Mining Engineering, composed of Hon. Ramon N. Santos, Chairperson of the PRB of Mining Engineering; Hon. Augusto C. Villaluna, Member of the PRB of Mining Engineering; and Mr. Jethro C. Cahutay, Professional Regulations Assistant for Regulation.

Representing MGB 7 during the inspection were Engr. Reina Frances D. Requieron, Engr. April Joy B. Caragon, Engr. Menard R. Magno, and Engr. Peter Gamaliel S. Semblante. The inspection team reviewed the roles of our 17 Mining Engineers—a diverse team of 7 women and 10 men—and confirmed that their job titles and responsibilities are strictly aligned with acceptable mining engineering practices.

Beyond the formal assessment, the team and MGB 7 representatives engaged in a productive dialogue regarding future projects and proposed amendments to existing policies. This collaborative exchange focused on improving conditions affecting the practice of the profession and on maintaining high ethical and technical standards in the field.

OIC, Regional Director Al Emil G. Berador expressed his sincere gratitude to the board, noting that he is incredibly proud of the team’s dedication to professionalism. This successful evaluation, which resulted in a recommendation for the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance, reaffirms MGB 7’s commitment to excellence in the service of the mining industry and the public. /MGB 7 IO
