MGB 7 BRINGS FRONTLINE SERVICES CLOSER TO COMMUNITIES VIA ‘DENR EXPRESS: PERMITTING ON WHEELS’ IN BOHOL AND CAMOTES

Streamlining government transactions and delivering direct public service to local communities, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 7 (MGB 7) joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 7 (DENR 7), the Environmental Management Bureau 7 (EMB 7), and the respective PENRO and CENRO offices for the “DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels” outreach caravans in Talibon, Bohol, and San Francisco, Camotes Islands, Cebu, held on August 19, 25, and 26, respectively.

This multi-agency collaborative initiative brought essential regulatory, technical, and advisory services directly to stakeholders, local government units, and residents, sparing them the need for long travel to regional offices.

Key MGB 7 Services Offered On-Site:

  • Permits and Accreditations Assistance: Processing of and guidance on Certificates of Accreditation (Dealers, Traders, Retailers), Ore Transport Permits (OTP), Mineral Ore Export Permits (MOEP), and Industrial/Commercial Sand and Gravel (ISAG/CSAG) applications.
  • Clearances and Area Status: Receipt and evaluation of requests for Geohazard Certifications, Rock Certifications, and Area Status/Clearances.
  • Geohazard IEC and Public Awareness: Distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials detailing flood, rain-induced landslide, and karst subsidence hazards to strengthen disaster preparedness in coastal and island communities.

Reading materials on geohazards, as well as dos and don’ts before, during, and after disasters, were also distributed during the activity.

Through strong collaboration with local government units and DENR line agencies, MGB 7 continues its commitment to transparent, efficient, and accessible public service delivery across Central Visayas. (Heart/IO)
