Area in Cebu Now Open for Mining Applications

 

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office No. VII has announced that an area covering parts of the Cities of Cebu and Talisay, and the Municipality of Minglanilla, Cebu Province, is now open for mining applications.

Order of Finality on APSA Application

This follows the issuance of an Order of Finality dated October 24, 2025, concerning Application for Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (APSA) No. 000444-VII filed by Cebu Ore Mining and Mineral Resource Corporation.

The Order confirms that the Decision rendered by MGB Regional Office VII on April 17, 2015, became final and executory on April 11, 2024, after the OIC–Director of MGB denied the corporation’s appeal dated March 15, 2022.

The Order of Finality was signed by AL EMIL G. BERADOR, OIC–Regional Director, MGB Regional Office No. VII.

Affected Area and Technical Description

The corresponding Notice declaring the area open for mining applications was issued on October 24, 2025, in Mandaue City, Philippines.

The open area spans a total of 1,425.6821 hectares, distributed across seven parcels situated within Cebu City, Talisay City, and Minglanilla, Cebu. The parcel distribution is as follows:
