In celebration of Philippine Arbor Day, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau 7 (MGB-7) participated in a tree-planting activity this morning in Barangay Campo Siete, Minglanilla, Cebu. The event was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Central Visayas (DENR-CV), in coordination with partner bureaus, national government agencies, and private companies.

The activity is also part of the national Carbon Neutral Program (CNP)—a long-term initiative aimed at offsetting carbon emissions by increasing the country’s forest cover through sustained tree planting and environmental stewardship.

More than 100 participants joined the event, planting various native tree seedlings to promote reforestation and support climate resilience. The joint effort highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration and community involvement in creating a greener, healthier environment for future generations. Happy Arbor Day! (Heart Rizarri)
